  The Cutest Christmas Play Ever!
This may be a slight exageration, but the Children's Christmas Play at Ocean Hills was the CUTEST! The kids did such a great job! One of my favorite parts was when Amara & Brolin did their duet of O Come All Ye Faithful. Amara played piano and Brolin sang. It was so precious! Another highlight was when a stack of empty Christmas boxes fell down on top of some kids - or when the manger literally collapsed, baby and all. You put kids up in front of a church dressed in animal costumes, and you've got a hit, regardless of all the mess ups. The best part of it all is that it's done - and I don't have to fret over it any longer. We did the play at a retirement center yesterday. Afterwards I talked with one of the resisdents. He has tears streaming down his face and his eyes were watery. He said that he was touched by the children's singing. During all the preparation for the play, I was very overwhelmed. There was so much to think about and coordinate, and I tend to worry (even when I know God is in control!). After seeing the gratitude in the old man's eyes, I remembered why we do what we do. There is a mission in the madness & heckticness of holidays, the mission of Christ. Sharing Christ, being Christ and resting in Christ. What a better way to share the joy of Christ birth than with children!

Who am I? I'm a follower of Christ, a lover of ultimate frisbee, a sister of three silly brothers, a youth worker for pre-teens, and a big fan of Diet Coke. I live by the beach, work at a church, eat a lot of canned soup and spend a lot of my free time buried in books. I don't like celery, zits or extreme sarcasm. I love my family, my friends, my co-workers and above all, GOD.
